The Old Ones, the Ancients, have always entreated us to "Always move toward the Light !"
My Old Friend, the Poet Hafiz penned these words :
One day the Sun admitted,
I am just a shadow.
I wish I could show you

The Infinite Incandescence
That has cast my brilliant image.
I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The Astonishing Light
Of your own Being !
Shams-ud-din Muhammad Hafiz
The Ancient Ones always said "Move toward the Light"!The Ancients knew that a relationship existed between time and light.
That Light has no time !
Nothing can travel at the speed of light, but light itself.
If we approach the speed of light (186,000 miles per second)
we become light, we must become light !
When we become light, a child of the Sun...
then time is dissolved, and we are now...
Thus, "we must become Light !"
Here we are again at this time of year, The Spiritual Time of Light...
(not that any other time of year is less sacred or less spiritual, but our focus is thus...)
We are celebrating the return of light, as daylight will now increase.
There will be fires, and I hope your internal fire warms, and lights your way...
There will be Light, especially as it reflects off the beautiful , crisp and pure snow !
I pray that you will each become that that Inspires you...
Candles will flicker and warm and bless and purify...
Allow all these symbols to remind you of that Light that shines in the world, even from ourselves into the World.
Honor Life, family and friends. The Ancient Taoist Sage said, "if you have anything against anybody, family, friend or foe...
If there exists anything that ought not be there...in the spirit of the season, remedy it, as much as lieth in you !
Give the gift of forgiveness to others, and to your self !
Let us honor our creative differences, the Yin & Yang of life; the masculine and the femnine...our opposites;
and attempt to do without trying to force resolution. In this way we can 'bring light to bear, the light of Compassion, to bring about our own personal Healing and the healing of our World. Pray for the entire World and send Peace and Healing said the Old Sage, but, let your Light shine in your world, where you live, and heal and feed and warm and defend, protect and accept all in your World. Don't get so busy with "over there" that you neglect "Over Here" !
Those who follow Tao celebrate the Solstice as a way of reminding ourselves of the cycles of existence.
We remember that all cycles have a left and a right, an up and a down side, a zenith and a nadir.
On the Solstice, we celebrate the "coming of Light", and for the times when light will surpass darkness.
All of life is cycles and balance... or as the Wisdon Book of the Bible, Ecclesiastes reads:
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under Heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to uproot.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build.
A time to weep and a time to laugh.
A time to mourn and a time to dance
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them.
A time to embrace and a time to refrain.
A time to search and a time to give up.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace."
Now is the time to shift and allow that which needs to to die, to die gracefully.
Thus, we can walk in newness and light , having uncovered space for Joy !
There is said to be a hole in the center of our galaxy, according to "THUNDERBOLTS", the Science guys based here in the Rose City , (PDX).
Well, there is also a hole in the world...and within many of us.
What better time to Heal that void than now...
I would, that you would let your Light Shine...walk in the Woods, or Park, or along the Winding River, spreading your Light, dreaming worthy dreams...
In the quietness of the Solstice...Become...
"And let there be Light !"
