You Can't Catch Cancer...Trust me !

I had an exceptional Fathers Day! We got up at O'dark-thirty and headed for the Hot Air Balloon launch on the other-side of town. Then to Breakfast with my youngest Son, Noah. Then back to the Balloon Festival for the Car Show. My friend Mark had his Camaro R/S in the show.

Then we came home, (I had walked way-to-much) and took a nap. Dawn grilled steaks , cut-up lots of WATERMELON, and as usual out-did herself with yet another gifted-meal. Being a Scotsman, I'm practical, so I asked for a new belt, a particular Book on Taoist Energetics, and for my Hybred-Bike to be tuned. Oh, and I got a Bart Simpson Fathers Day card with Sound !

The week had ended well, as I received phone calls from Jerusalem and Dublin. Connection is important for me; which is the gist of this Blog.

I was at a Student's home (a good friend I might add) Their French Poodle fell sick, and they are spending a lot of time and money returning this beautiful animal to health. (She loves to be near us when we do ChiGung!)

My friend, rather concerned, said to me : "My Wife doesn't want you or me working on the Dog. She doesn't want the Dog catching Cancer"!   ...

May I say again...YOU CAN'T CATCH  CANCER...neither can you catch a cold out in the weather...it's a virus...Cancer isn't !

You also can't contract Cancer by sending me E-mails...which have really fallen-off since I shared my situation. I know...people don't know what to say or how to say it. This morning I received another Phone call from another person in Jerusalem, who had just returned from Rio de Janeiro; lecturing on Chi Gung and Alternative Cancer Treatments at local Hospitals; and qualifying candidates for Grants associated with Chi Gung. She shared that when he Brother was killed (one of two brothers who gave their lives for freedom) that people were too afraid to call and or visit.

 So, "I am fine"...Thanks for asking !

CANCER... "When I went through Lung Cancer the summer of 1981, I found it ‘Cuts a swath through the mind (Hsin) into which all thoughts flow."  We fear Cancer... There are many misconceptions about Cancer and as Nancy Reagan said: "We need to be afraid of the Cancer and not the Mammogram."

Of my particular cancer, "Multiple Myeloma" , I thought it doesn't happen in people my age. (50's), but manifests in the late 60's. My Mother-in-Law died of this Cancer at age 86, (while we were at SHENOA); and my Brother-from-a-Different-Mother in Dublin, his father is fighting it even as I write! My Oncologist said that they have diagnosed Multiple Myeloma in people in their 20's. Like other diseases, cancer has it's roots in youth. I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR ! I wear the ARMBAND, I wear the SHIRTS, I WALK to WALK and TALK the TALK !  Essentially we are all Cancer survivors ! Why ? Mutations in the DNA of any of our 100 trillion cells occur constantly in all of us all the time, and new cancer cells are a common occurrence , even in young adults. However, these microscopic cancers almost never become lethal tumors. The primary reason is that our immune system  detects them early on and snuffs them out before they can even have a chance to grow.

I told my Oncologist that we had caught this Cancer early, because it didn't show-up on or in any of my Blood-work from November and January when I underwent my Heart Surgeries. She said Nay Nay...that this cancer was smoldering for some years. Some tumors have been growing for 15 plus years in some patients... It is what it is...

Treatment, and Support are utmost for Cancer survival !

Surviving is a multi-part process, which includes Treatment for sure; but also Healing, Prevention and Life Extension. By life extension, I mean habits and mind-sets such as a Healthy Alkaline diet, proper exercise (with lots of Chi Gung...UP TO 5 HOURS PLUS A DAY...proper amounts of sleep, Meditation, Creative Visualization, Stress management, doing all things in Moderation (70%) and of course STOP SMOKING and Check your Alcohol consumption.

It has been said, and I hold it to be true :"FEAR IS THE MINDKILLER"

"We are what we are and where we are because of what has gone into our minds. To change what we are, and to change where we are, we must change what goes into our minds."

Or, like Charlie Tremendous Jones was so fond of saying :

 "GET A CHECK-UP FROM THE NECK-UP AND GET RID OF THAT STINKIN THINKIN !"

May I say in all love and humility that I am fine and I am going to beat this !

If what has manifested in my life has thrown you a curve, I am indeed sorry.

Blah Blah Blah...Some people think that since I practice Chi Gung, and teach Chi gung, and am actively engaged in Healing; that perhaps I shouldn't have "caught" Cancer in the first place! Well, the reason I practice Chi Gung is "so when this stuff comes" I will be strong enough to combat it, body, soul and spirit!" My ground is the ground of my faith ! My faith in God, in the Taoist Water method of Internal Healing, and in the many many our "Healing Team" has helped across the years...

I am here...I am fine...I am going to Israel to teach this September and again in January...Oh, and if you'd like to write...I'd like to hear from you.
