Energy Arts is a new kind of change catalyst. We are an education, training and publishing company and our mission is to establish the widespread practice of Taoist health and energy systems in the Western world.

Time for a change – Taoism goes West

Bruce’s teacher Liu empowered him to teach in the West because he felt that it was time for the Taoist perspective to reach out beyond the Chinese people to make contact with the Western worldview and help humankind in general.

Liu felt that there was deep underlying sympathy between the critical Western mind and the Taoist worldview which emphasizes not blind faith or belief but instead personal experimentation and verification of Taoism’s fundamental truths.

Our goal – a revolution in everyday life

However, Liu felt that a crucial component was missing from the postmodern Western worldview: practical techniques that could turn the new science of ecology into a practical, invigorating way of life for ordinary people.

Wellness - a new vision of health

In order to make Liu’s vision a reality a steep road lies ahead. We must transform the way that we think about health from the mere absence of sickness to the presence of wellness.

By wellness we mean a style of life in which self-maintenance of our own minds and bodies becomes the norm and not the exception.

Wellness also means a living appreciation of the Taoist truth that the health of the individual is dependent upon the wider eco-systems of which we are living parts.
