August 20 to 22, 2010
The most profound emotional and spiritual development is initiated with Taoist meditation, which originates from the I Ching, the classic text and fundamental basis of Taoism. More than 5,000 years old, the I Ching is about the nature of change and how it occurs—the mother lode of how yin and yang mix in complex variations. Bruce is a Lineage Holder in the Water method of Taoist meditation passed down from the teachings of Lao Tse. To employ all of your effort and yet not use force—so that you avoid contravening the actual limits of the body, mind and spirit—is the gentle way of Lao Tse, one of Taoism’s greatest sages and author of the Tao Te Ching. Bruce has developed a method to teach his lineage tradition which he calls Taoist meditation.
Those new to Taoist meditation will learn the basic method of Inner Dissolving including:
• How to maintain correct body alignments while sitting
• Staying consciously present in the body while focusing on awareness of inner non-physical emotional, mental and psychic qualities
• How to put the mind into all the potential energies including the physical and etheric bodies, emotions, thoughts and psychic perceptions
• Basic techniques to release negative emotions, inner attachments, expectations and shock.Students with a solid foundation in Taoist meditation may focus on such topics as:
• Using the techniques of the 16-part neigong system to affect the different energy bodies, beginning with breathing and opening and closing, to see what naturally emerges
• Exploring how to resolve karmic patterns or ruts to gain a greater ability to change
• Resolving the dissonance between your inner world and the realities of living a life
• Beginning the process of developing the full potential of the spirit by moving beyond yin and yang and engaging with emptiness, creativity, the unseen world and compassion.Local Contact: Michael Eno
