  • Tai Chi Reverses Polio Damage
    PrintPrint E-mailE-mail

Since I had polio as a child, my right leg was shortened and a lot of muscles in that leg and my right side were not completely functional. In a few months of practicing tai chi, my balance improved so much that I am now able to stand on my right leg alone without falling for the first time since I got polio in 1953. Also, several muscles in my lower leg have “appeared” and begun to function again after all this time. Over the past two years, chi gung improved my situation quite a bit, but once I started tai chi the progress was dramatic.
