In your very good book, Opening the Energy Gates of the Body, you state that a person must sink blockages downward to make the qi go Sung. You say that you have to use ” …your intention in any creative way that works … ” to release the blockage and let it sink. I’m an amateur with Qi Gong, could you give me some examples of “creative ways” that others have used to release and sink their blockages?

    Thank You,

You want to keep your attention on the blockage and wait until it releases by itself. Trying to release it is counterproductive. Sinking is practiced by doing this process in a downward manner, scanning through the body. Eventually you get a continuum like a wave.

How do you release blockages just by having your attention on them? Well they say that yi leads chi. In other words your energy goes where your mind goes. This energy seems to loosen the blockage. Normally I start releasing things a lot easier if I can stay absolutely still for a long time. Perhaps 45mins to an hour. You can do it with less time but in my experience it works better after a long time being still.
