Not a big deal, but of some interest to me is the difference between front how stance and back bow stance. As a intermediate student from the Dong lineage through T.Y. Pang, we have been told that the back bow was held as a specific way to increase leg strength and root. You hardly see it done when the set is “played”. It’s obvious with the you tube videos of master Dong and the one video of T.Y. Pang. Most styles have a more obvious forward bow presentation. The hip alignment is easier to get with the backward bow than the front for me as I have done it that way for 20 years. are the differences stylistic only or functional/energetic. I’m all for what is best practice.
