Taoist Energy Arts Weekend
June 21 - June 23
Join us for our first-ever workshop at the new Energy Arts Training Center. The last time Bruce had his own training center was in Denver at the Nei Jia Institute more than 30 years ago! Bruce is thrilled to be back in the Rockies and the Eastern slope of Colorado. It’s a great place with even better people. This introductory weekend course is the first step of a journey to share Taoism and the powerful practices that are a part of it. The mountains really give off a unique energy that’s going to be perfect for the training center and this workshop. We are very excited to have you join us!
In this weekend workshop you will be practicing Taoist meditation, qigong, and tai chi together, switching back-and-forth between modalities. This teaching style will follow the traditional way that Taoists were taught and how Bruce learned these practices in China straight from the source. All Taoist practices are done standing, sitting, moving, lying down, or interacting. Each has its own unique flavor: Tai chi’s various movements; qigong can done all five ways; and meditation, which focuses initially on sitting. Bruce will teach you how movement and stillness of the mind moves between each other, and how they can seamlessly fuse into one.
This two and half day course will be composed of five parts. Within each part, Bruce will teach tai chi and qigong and how they form the context of the inner dissolving method of Taoist meditation. This will enable you to understand and get some practical experience in how each practice goes from the physical, to the energetic, to the spiritual (jing, qi, shen). Through these practices, Bruce will help you understand how they expand out into the healing, spiritual, and self defense aspects of what’s in Taoism.
Everyone is welcome, in this course, from the beginner to the highly experienced practitioner. Those experienced in tai chi will learn even more, those who have never done tai chi will learn more about qigong and how it relates to tai chi, and everyone will learn the basics of Taoist meditation. More experienced practitioners in all areas will be given instructions on how to upgrade their skills.
