Weekly Classes with Senior Instructor Craig Barnes

Craig is a Senior Instructor in the Energy Arts system and has been practicing and teaching Tai Chi, Qigong, Meditation, and the internal arts for over 30 years. He has studied actively with Master Frantzis since 1987 and has taught his own courses all over the world. He is one of only a few instructors who have been authorized by Master Frantzis to certify instructors in his system. Craig is known for his gentle yet thorough approach, and his ability to present complex material in a direct way that makes it come to life and take root. These 9-week sessions will be a treasure trove of learning for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.

Dragon & Tiger Medical Qigong 9-Week Course:

Mondays and Wednesdays,  6pm – 6:50pm 

Dragon and Tiger is a sophisticated, yet easy to learn Qigong system that stretches back 1,500 years. The seven movements of Dragon and Tiger work with the chi in the acupuncture meridian lines, as well as the energy just outside the skin surrounding the body. Dragon and Tiger’s movements are fun and playful, while also acting as a very effective set for opening the door to feeling the chi of your body very directly and palpably. This foundational, 9-week class will take you through all seven movements of Dragon and Tiger and give you a complete practice to take into your daily life.

Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form 9-Week Course:

Mondays and Wednesdays, 7pm – 7:50pm 

Tai chi energizes the whole body and gives you more chi (qi), the energy that makes you feel alive, well and vital. The smooth, smaller frame movements of the Wu Style Tai Chi make it a wonderful starting point for someone just beginning, and also the perfect container for exploring the inner aspects of Tai Chi for more advanced practitioners. It is particularly well suited to health, healing, and meditation. The Wu Style taught in this course comes straight from a powerful and authentic lineage that was passed to Master Frantzis’  by his teacher Liu Hung Chieh, who learned it directly from Wu Style founder, Wu Jien Chuan.  In this 9-week course, attendees will learn the first portion of the Wu Style Short Form.

Bagua Circle Walking 9-Week Course:

Wednesdays, 8pm – 9pm 

Bagua Zhang was developed 4,000 years ago in Taoist monasteries primarily for health and meditation. In the last several hundred years, Bagua Zhang has become known as a powerful internal martial art, but it is equally effective as a health and moving meditation practice. Walking the circle is a primary practice of Bagua that builds a practitioner’s health and vitality, while also creating a mind that can flow smoothly with change in all its forms. Craig will be introducing attendees to this powerful practice over this 9wk session.

  • Learning how to relax while in motion
  • Building and strengthening the body and chi
  • Becoming comfortable and smooth with rapid changes
  • Acting as an incredibly effective form of moving meditation
