    Question..

I have been practicing Qigong and Tai Chi for years and have always been able to generate a lot of energy in my hands rather quickly. My fingers and palms pulse and generate a lot of warmth.

The question I have is why do my palms ache as the energy builds. I am guessing there is a block and I am unsure how to let it flow out to release it.

    Or is this something else?

Hello Stan, good to hear/read from your experiences. You mention doing for yrs, just curious what sort of QIgong set/style? (as encompasses many types of directed-flow of mind-action, etc).. its of course hard to guess, espec with little details (I’d throw in the thought as I done in other forum-replies, one might travel to meet with a cert-instructor of this system, even if just for a single session- like if they have a class or seminar, even if you didn’t have a private instruction, just a few questions in person.. etc.)..

what comes to mind (and feeling what I do in myselfI to create what it seems you describe), I might recommend investigating your quality of attention, how tense the “mind” is on that area (not just hands- not just perhaps an outward pressing, a ‘holding’ sense.. even heavy? in the NervousSystem.. just mind just looking around- like being a park and glancing around with an ah– sigh neat place, vs who’s here? what’s going on? hey, what’s over there? it better not move… (-dramatized of course )
-thus to compare, one can be creating a tense body, and tense intending E strongly moving this way or that, and yet the mind (and especially the sense of touch of the nervous system. the feel of the “hand” of the CNS so to speak, being at ease.. contrasted with a very relaxed body, and maybe not really pushing the E flow, just let it be.. and yet still in that relaxed body and less force in doing, the sense of what is paying attention folds (even diving-in, or disconnected from) is tense. (hard to put in words) how to change that? requires finding a new way to recog that , and shift your coming-from.

have you read B Frantzis’s Opening the Egates of the Body?
(if you have, or if you practice that set, or have ever- when I first learned it and practiced for a while, I learned from it, but it wasn’t until I had experience with those that did that stand-sung-sink (dissolve) in a less inner-intense way that I even realized there was an option (I found a way, in the beginning to relatively soften and yet create strong-E flows and thereby extreme ESpike feels-etc…
doing that set, it seemed that was expected, until the let-go of “sense of strength” revealed a greater Eflow strength.. -just a thought- luck in your practice
