Anja Gienger has been studying Taijiquan, Qi Gong and meditation since the early eighties. Despite a few interruptions, some of which lasted for several years, she always returned to these practices and was eventually able to turn them into a steady and vital part of her life.
Initially, Anja learned Yang-style Tai Chi from Master Chu King Hung and his student, P. L. Tjoa, at the International Tai Chi Chuan Association (ITCCA) in Stuttgart. Many years later, she completed a four-year teacher training with Master Frieder Anders in Frankfurt, which deepened her understanding of Yang-style Tai Chi and taught her the Sword Form and Sabre Form.
In addition to Tai Chi, Anja has been practicing different forms of meditation since the early eighties. She completed her first Vipassana retreat in France in 1983, which was followed by another Vipassana retreat in Thailand and several shorter Zen retreats in Germany.
In 2011, Anja met Taoist Master and lineage holder Bruce Frantzis. Since then, she has been learning Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Taoist meditation from Bruce himself, as well as other senior Energy Arts teachers. Anja has participated in numerous Energy Arts retreats and teacher trainings and has been practicing as an Energy Arts instructor since 2013.
Anja has her own school in Tübingen, where she runs weekly group classes, as well as occasional private lessons and intensive weekend workshops. In addition to Energy Arts, Anja teaches Pilates (
