Masterclass Workshop Series:
3 Keys for Energizing Your
Tai Chi and Qigong

A Special 3-Event Online Training

with Master Bruce Frantzis

Dear friends of the Tao,

I am excited to let you know I am going to be teaching three all new tai chi and qigong masterclasses and that we have decided to offer these as online courses so that you can watch them from anywhere and download them to own them forever.

We are doing this masterclass series to focus on practices and methods that have stood the test of time. They work effectively now and will be equally powerful fifty years from now. They are also what most practitioners have either missed completely or have not learned effectively.

When I was learning Taoist Energy Arts, I had to go to the source in China, and even there most of the inner secrets were starting to be lost. I was fortunate to have meet my teacher, Liu Hung Chieh, who when he taught me, started at the beginning to teach me many of the perennial principles I’ll soon be sharing with you inside this masterclass series.

So here is what is inside these three new training masterclasses:

 1. Mindfulness in Your Tai Chi and Qigong: It is important to learn how to bring more presence into your practices. This is the key to feeling chi and maintaining awareness when you practice. This is often overlooked or simply not taught because a new student is attempting just to learn the moves. What I can say is mindfulness or presence in your practice is a skill that can be developed and when you get it your entire relationship with tai chi and qigong will improve

2. Rooting in Tai Chi and Qigong: This is quite possibly the single most important principle that is at the core of every Taoist Energy Art. With rooting chi flows stronger and can do its job. Without rooting, you have leaks in your body system and you dramatically decrease your power for healing, health or any type of martial application. I will be sharing the classic methods that are taught to learn rooting.

3. Working with Chi in Tai Chi and Qigong: As you start to learn any kind of form, you in essence are learning to use energy or chi. With more presence and mindfulness you can become aware of the chi. With stronger rooting you will generate more power and flow. Now the question becomes what do you do with that chi?  In this masterclass we will go in depth into the different ways to work with chi in your body.

These three masterclasses are great both for those starting out and those who really want to build on their current practice. We will be showing some basic principles and practices that you can apply to any type of tai chi or qigong form.

Originally these were only going to be Live courses offered at my Longmont, Colorado training center, but my team is recording and editing them in high definition video/audio so we can make them available for tai chi and qigong practitioners worldwide. You will come back to these three masterclasses over and over so you’ll want to have the recordings.

Thanks for being part of our community and I sincerely hope that this new masterclass series benefits you and your practice.

Everything furthers,

Bruce Frantzis

Underlying tai chi and qigong are what the Taoist called the 16 neigong (translated as ‘energy work) and is a unique system that is taught within Energy Arts practices.

This all new Masterclass series teaches elements of this neigong system that you can put into any energy art practice. You do not have to learn these in a sequential manner and each improves your ability to feel, move and work with chi.

Here are the 16 neigong:

  1. Breathing methods, from the simple to the complex.
  2. Moving chi along the general direction of the various ascending, descending and lateral connecting channels within the body.
  3. Moving chi in specific ways throughout the body.
  4. Precise body alignments.
  5. Dissolving, releasing and resolving all blockages in the eight energy bodies.
  6. Bending and stretching the body’s soft tissues.
  7. Opening and closing methods (pulsing).
  8. Working with the energies of the external aura.
  9. Amplifying the circles and spirals of energy inside the body.
  10. Learning to move chi to any part of the body at will.
  11. Awakening and controlling all the energies of the spine.
  12. Awakening and using the body’s left and right energy channels.
  13. Awakening and using the body’s central energy channel.
  14. Developing the capacities and all the uses of the body’s lower tantien.
  15. Developing the capacities and all the uses of the middle and upper tantiens.
  16. Integrating and connecting each of the previous 15 components into one, unified energy.

As your capacity to feel and move chi increases, then you can use it for health, building power, and even spiritual applications.

What's Inside the 3 NEW Online Tai Chi & Qigong Trainings

Online Workshop #1: Mindfulness in Tai Chi and Qigong: Taoist presence practices to release stress, anxiety, & distraction

Do you feel completely present and “all there” throughout your day, or do a barrage of constant distractions and the anxiety of your “to do” list always tug at the back your mind? Being fully present and embodied is what allows a practitioner to truly dive into the depth of what Tai Chi and Qigong have to offer. Tai chi and qigong, in turn, smooth the body and energy, allowing the mind to release into effortless presence. In this course, Master Frantzis shares these practical teachings on how to infuse greater presence into your form and your life.

In this course, we explore:

  • Releasing the inherent tension in the nerves, particularly as it relates to anxiety
  • Taoist presence practices for getting you into your body, and developing the presence and ability to “stay with” your experience
  • Developing a continuous thread of awareness in your practice to combat the constant breaks of attention in a smart-phone world
  • Using presence to activate the positive qualities inside your body
  • Working with the first movement of Tai Chi or “Commencement” to integrate the previous elements and start your form being fully aware (you do not need to know a Tai Chi form to attend the course)

Online Workshop #2:  Rooting in Tai Chi and Qigong: Developing Powerful Stability in Body and Mind

Rooting is a prized skill in Tai Chi that refers to the depth of a practitioner’s ability to sink their energy below their feet to create an unshakeable foundation. In this session, you’ll learn some of the key components of how to create a powerful physical root, while also increasing the stability of your mind. Master Frantzis will share techniques he learned as a martial artist and mediator from over 14yrs studying in Asia with some of the legends in the Tai Chi and Qigong world including Yang Shao Jung, Feng Zhi Qiang, Hung I Hsiang, Wang Shu Jin, T.T. Liang, and many others.

In this course, we explore:

  • What it’s like to really sink your qi (chi) through your legs
  • Understanding specifically how creating a strong physical root can act as a platform for a stable mind
  • Working with essential physical alignments to enhance and deepen your root
  • How to remain stable and relaxed while being put under physical stress
  • How to remain stable and relaxed when encountering mental and emotional stress
  • Using the walking techniques of Tai Chi and Qigong to integrate the course material
  • Introducing how walking can also be a powerful tool for meditation, not only in the arts of Tai Chi and Qigong, but also the related art of Bagua

Online Workshop #3:  How to Work With Chi in Tai Chi and Qigong: Increasing Subtle Awareness to Supercharge your Form with Chi(Qi)

chiDirectly and deliberately working with the chi inside of you in a felt, dynamic way is what truly separates Tai Chi and Qigong from other forms of exercise and movement practices. In this course, you’ll be tuning your subtle awareness to work with the energy inside your form in a direct and practical way. You’ll also be taught how the physical container of your Tai Chi and Qigong forms amplifies and supports energetic development. Master Frantzis helps you to gain clarity without confusion on this often, overly mystified topic. You’ll take away practical tools that you can use right away to energize your practice for years to come.

In this course, we explore:

  • How to turn your awareness deeper inside to recognize and use subtler sensations, like chi, in your forms
  • Demystify what chi is and make it practical to your practice
  • How to use the movement of chi to originate movement in your physical body
  • Amplifying chi movement through proper alignment and structure
  • Time permitting, the course may include partner exercises to get a sense of how to listen to chi in another person’s body
