The Art of the Spiral:

Embodying Twisting Neigong in Tai Chi & Bagua

March 14–15 | Longmont, CO

From the microscopic twist of a DNA helix to the celestial turning of galaxies, spiraling energy is intrinsic to nature. This weekend workshop with Master Bruce Frantzis offers in-depth instruction on understanding and integrating twisting neigong into your Tai Chi practice.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE

A Unique Dual Perspective on Twisting Neigong

This is a special dual-release course:

In-depth in-person workshop with Master Bruce Frantzis

Recorded online course program with Senior Instructor Paul Cavel

Paul assisting Bruce live during the March workshop

The complementary perspectives of Tai Chi (more yin) and Bagua (more yang) give students a full spectrum approach to embodying twisting neigong.

WHY TWISTING MATTERS

The Power of the Spiral in the Internal Arts

Harnessing and enhancing the natural spiraling pattern in your body through turning, twisting, and spiraling is a hallmark of what makes internal arts so effective for:

  • Health
  • Healing
  • Integration
  • Power

Tai Chi and Bagua are renowned for their depth and sophistication of twisting neigong. Both arts are among the most highly effective vehicles for experiencing and integrating these skills in your own body.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

What Master Frantzis Will Explore

A few areas Bruce plans to touch on:

  • How gentle twisting of the tissues can help “wring” tension from the body for deep release and relaxation
  • Using twisting neigong to upgrade the functioning of your internal organs
  • How twisting neigong adds power and integration to your movements
  • How understanding twisting neigong dramatically deepens your practice of Tai Chi and Bagua
  • Using and accentuating the body’s natural twistings to enhance energetic flow and strength

For those who do not practice Tai Chi, basic exercises will be given to provide an easy entry point.

The Teachers

Master Bruce Frantzis

Bruce Frantzis is a recognized Daoist Lineage Master and Founder of Energy Arts. He trained for over a decade and a half in China, India, and Japan and worked extensively as a qigong tuina doctor.

For more than 50 years, he has studied and taught the martial, healing, and spiritual practices of ancient China. He teaches qigong, meditation, Tai Chi, baguazhang, and xingyi, and has authored more than a dozen books.

The heart of his tradition is the cultivation of Qi (chi) — the internal energy connecting mind, body, and spirit to the Dao.

Senior Instructor Paul Cavel

Paul Cavel is an Energy Arts Senior Instructor with 30 years of teaching experience in the Water Method.

He is the author of:

  • Taoism: A Journey Towards Unity
  • The Tai Chi Space
  • Heaven & Earth Qigong

Paul is known for breaking down complex material into easily digestible pieces. He is one of only a few instructors authorized by Master Frantzis to certify instructors in the system.

Participants will also receive Paul’s online program on manifesting twisting neigong through the unification exercises of Bagua.

WHY ATTEND IN PERSON?

The Benefits of In-Person Transmission

In-person attendance is always recommended.

Bruce responds directly to what he sees in the room and adjusts accordingly. The teachings are transmission-based and offered in a sealed space — embodying the information is most possible in person.

In-Person Benefits:

  • Hands-on adjustments from Bruce and Senior Instructors
  • Priority during Q&A sessions
  • Immersive learning environment

What Students Say

I just want to thank ALL of you. I’ve had a little experience with Qigong, and this is providing a way for me to experience so much more. Thanks for the encouragement to go at my own pace, AND to practice daily. Looking forward to more. The practice sessions during the week are extraordinary. I start with discomfort and some soreness, and end up feeling great!
