Hi Bruce, it’s Philippe Piriou. I was in Germany to learn ‘Bend the bow’ Qiqong with you. I’m the guy who gave the ‘Zhuang Zi sayings’ book to Bill, your external memory :-) . While doing Qiqong daily several times a day for years, I’d say Tai Chi practise provide several differences to my experience. First is the Qi flow between the moves, which doesn’t exist in Qiqong set like ‘Dragon & Tiger’ which also has a succession of moves but where there’s no real continuity between moves. Second is the moving of the practioner during the set which doesn’t exist in Qiqong where you remain relatively static (a square meter is enough). Third is enjoyment. While I sometimes have to force myself to do Qigong, it isn’t the case with Tai Chi. It’s a pleasure doing it. As for the moves, I can relate to Qigong ones: it’s similar in feeling. For example, the ‘Commencernent’ move of Tai Chi is really like ‘Bend the bow’, or the arms/shoulders extension of ‘Single whip is like ”Tiger Separates Her Cubs’ of ‘Dragon & Tiger’. What I do now is starting by Tai Chi (twice) to warm-up my body and make the Qi flow better then I do Qigong, which are far more effcient. It’s really better. Bye and thanks for sharing.

I’m just getting started with Dragon and Tiger, but I feel that with practice, the movements do flow into one another, continuing the
    energy flow throughout.
I would like to hear Bruce’s comments on this.
