So the story of Yang Luchan leaving Chen village was really interesting to me especially the what started being the focus of the Yang style vs Chen.
You mentioned a couple of things about silk reeling and it leads me to wonder why would silk reeling not continue on in Wu or Yang style where in Chen they seemed to be one of the most fundamental parts for beginning students?
I also might not understand Yang or Wu well enough to really understand that they have aspects of silk reeling.
As a follow up question what was the progression for Wu Style students (Talking about from large frame and small frame) ? do they just start with the small movements or do they do larger movements and move smaller over time?
Thanks for any insight on my questions.
My silk reeling question was answered in the DVD’s Thanks.
Thanks for helping me understand that a lot better. Bruce’s clarity on the topic is really great.
