Many traditional Wu style schools teach square form as a first stage in learning the form. Is there a particular reason what Bruce hasn’t adopted this approach?

What is “square form”? I haven’t heard that term before
…..I’m no expert, but my understanding is that someone in the ‘southern lineage’ of the Wu Style introduced a way of teaching which involved a mechanistic approach to learning the basic geometry of the form to a 1-2-3 count. It looks a bit ‘robotic’ (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUrt4z5vnwU). I think the idea is that this mechanical approach helps beginners learn the basic shape of the form.
