Hi there,
In the first movement, the joints and cavities close, but the energy is Peng, so the weight is on the balls of the feet. Right?
Sorry, I forgot to add second part: isn’t this first part the same as the four-part first movement of ‘Gods Playing In The Clouds’ neigung?

The first movement of Gods Playing in the Clouds has four parts, just as Commencement in the Wu Tai Chi Form has four parts.
However, the first and fourth part of the first Movement of Gods are similar to the first (Peng) and fourth (An) movements of Commencement, but not to the second and third movements.
While the second and third parts of the first Gods movement have aspects to Gi and Lu, the physical movements are performed differently from the Commencement of the Tai Chi Form.

But in tai chi commencement, let me check I’ve got this straight. Please, if you don’t mind:
Peng: Closing; energy rising; weight on balls of feet.
Gi: Opening; energy going forwards; weight still on balls of feet?
Lu: Closing; energy going backwards; weight on heels?
