Hello,
Re: Dragon & Tiger Qigong – Movement 3 – Tiger Crouches.
What is the correct weight distribution with the legs.
I do about 70% on the front leg and 30% on the back leg. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Adam
All your weight is on the forward leg, so ideally it is 100-0.
Yes, as Russell said 100 on the front leg.
With a weakness in my knees, I have had to pay extra care to this as my unweighted knee will start to hurt if I do not adher to this.
I am not an instructor, but as far as I understand it, the empty leg helps for balance. Your weight and energy goes through the kwa, knee and ankle of the front leg into the floor. So your weight is centered over it. If you’d place weight on the back leg, you would be pushing into the knee and our ankle at an odd angle which strains the joints.
