AnonymousGuestGreetings,
Although a few have posted on this topic, I still feel unclear as to how and when to apply the c-spine in each movement. Below I will list each movement and how I understand it should be done in the simplist manner I can manage. Feel free to correct or add to my rendering.
#1 – C-spine as hands are rising/falling.
#2 – Bend forward at the kwa with no C-spine.
#3 – Bend forward and to the sides at the kwa with no C-spine.
#4,5,6 – C-spine as hands are falling.*Also, it is my understanding that during closing the kwa without bending forward is done by thrusting the pelvis. Is this correct? Partially correct? Or is there more to it.
Thanks everyone,
Kevin

AnonymousGuestMy understanding is similar but slightly different. I understand C-spine is done in all movements just to different degree. The difference between the movements will be in the extent to which we bend at kwa:
Movement 1 – first half no bend, second half distinctive bend at kwa
Mov 2 – Mov 4 – Lots of kwa bend
Mov 5-6 – no bend, only close-open kwa.Curious to hear comments from long term practitioners.
