The second question is a bit trickier, but for the first one (and sets the foundation)- rising up the entire layer of the back (sides middle along)- at around the shoulder-blades- it branches to ‘both’ go around and along arms, while simul going up back of neck
(reach the “tips of fingers” and “crown of head” at the same time.. thus different speeds- then from both arc back in, again simul and at different speeds- so they meet up again roughly over heart, in front

To some this could seem complicated, but “first separate, and ‘then’ combine”…

the descending from crown, down the face, is a Yin-Action allowing.. requires (for me) a let-go in the throat all the way deep and down into the collar area- etc.. -this goes with the yin- let go soft receiving in the inner arms.. (as if in an egg-toss, catching inward- not grab and force it in a pull).. both these yin actions synch up (as well as sink- up and reinforce each other… the best trigger for release in my system, when my head-brain and even spine was all grinding..

in regards to another issue, and relates to second question- it goes in the “sides” and in down-along the center, both.. this might help in the “Once in the palate, which way takes qi to get to chest nest?” -I’m not sure I get your question there..
