Over the years I’ve had many times when Bruce’s system has seemed to come into clear focus. I’ve started to get a real sense for how things are connected, the sequence of learning, and the whys. Usually there is an accompanying peak experience that makes things that were previously a struggle or impossible – easy.

    This rarely lasts.

Eventually the whole thing is challenged and the red dust that was settled at the bottom of the glass of water is once again perturbed. I just went through one of these cycles. The good news is that the cycle will repeat so there is always hope of coming into clarity again no matter how long that will take. It also is a sign of progress and brings new challenges and deeper understanding. The trick is to persevere.

So, I’m still trying to sort everything out, but at this point I think I’ve found the tai chi space, the place where yin and yang come in and out of. With it, I think I’ve found the central channel and I am starting to understand how you get a release of energy when yin and yang separate and combine. I’m hopeful that this is the one change that Liu Hung Chieh spoke about.

I also have found a much deeper concept of stability and potentially the beginning stages of emptiness. Statements like all is the central channel actually make sense.
