AnonymousGuestFor the past five years my health has been a major issue and to date there is no firm medical diagnosis (speculation ranges from autoimmune, Lyme, or CFS, which has caused muscle weakness, spasms, weight loss, and entire body pain). In my case western medicine has not been able to help. As such, I stopped all medications and began practicing Tai Chi, which keeps me functional. After the first two weeks of ‘Five Keys training, I have noticed a slight increase in energy and a slight decrease in ill health symptoms. I look forward to weeks 3 thru 10, hope the Five Keys will assist in improving my health and provide a good foundation for the internal arts.

AnonymousGuestI have more or less the same problems before, characterised by lack of energy and being debilitating in health. I think many factors becomes involved and a holistic approach is the best solution.
My experience is to paid attention to:-
1) Either with food or herbs to try to nourish your kidney specifically and increase energy in general. Food does have it own specify quality, eat well.
2) Stress is the main culprit in all sorts of body malaise but then it is quite difficult to free oneself from it. Sometimes we don’t have a method to free ourself or sometimes we though we are al-right, like doing a lots of meditation, but actually it is still there.
Pay attention to get rid of stress and Qigong is an idea method. The science of Qigong involves working the qi for health (can be involved in spiritual and martial arts, which however I believe is not most well know for). In order to do that or to get to the highest form of qigong it involves complete relaxation. Energyarts is one of the best.
3) Qigong exercise is like taking food, the effect can be almost immediate as in acute case and is slower in chronic case. As in eating food, we need to be regularly and we cannot force feed to get well. 70% rule is actually very important and is very practical but we have a natural tendency to want to push ourself to get better. In the 5-keys the advise is to do as much as when you feel good but also to remember to do it in bite-size, that is to do often but in short period.
Try to paid attention to every details or instructions and don’t miss a step, this is so because we are trying to actualise something (that is qi) that is completely new. Until we are expert in it, we can exercise and move qi without much form work and movement, even against the rule.
When the qi starts to move strongly in the exercise, you will sense it. When qi moves more freely it automatically increase in quality and quantity. Qi is the essence of the body and is especially felt as energy.
4) I find Paul have pick up 5 of the most useful qigong forms and I have been doing it freely all the time, whether being serious or just to have fun the 5 keys are suitable. It becomes like your staple food, you just take some of it even when you are trying other types of qigong.
5)If you feel that the medication have a good effect you can continue to take it. Qigong is a 100% natural body function and it will not have adverse effect on our food or medication.
I hope you will enjoy the 5-keys and be well.October 27, 2015 at 7:10 pm #135433

AnonymousGuestMichael,
If what you’re experiencing is in fact Lyme (and every symptom mentioned certainly would apply), then in the strongest terms I hope you’ll rethink your stated strategy. Lyme is a organism that does not merely go away or is otherwise controlled and subdued by your immune system (your symptoms illustrate the opposite).
The more time that passes, the deeper Lyme boroughs into the body (crosses the blood brain barrier, into the bone marrow, ect) and the more difficult a case of chronic Lyme will be to achieve any level of remission.Since this isn’t the place for an in-depth discussion on Lyme disease you may message me on Facebook (location: San Jose).
What I can tell you about having chronic Lyme concurrent with these energetic practices is at times minimal effort will exhaust you. Other times you will get a bounce. On the days you can’t get out of bed all one can do is practice Taoist breathing. When your nervous system is inflamed and/or damaged it’s a wholly different way of feeling inside one’s body; one knows right where everything is on a level that well people can’t relate.
Best of luck, Sonny
