AnonymousGuestLast year I started a Qigong practice. This type of Qigong was created just three years ago. The purpose of the method, which I recently found out, is to build a lot of Qi quickly. When I started to practice using this method I felt great. I had suffered from chronic pain for decades. However, after about three months of daily practice I started to experience migraine headaches. I have never had a migraine in my life and I didn’t know what was happening. I was also experiencing nausea, vomiting, dizziness and light sensitivity. The symptoms got so bad that I could no longer practice standing up. My life changed dramatically. Besides going to work for six hours a day, I live completely in the dark. I don’t watch TV, use the computer or go outside due to the light sensitivity. I have been to acupuncturists, chiropractors, and neurologists. I contacted the teacher who created the Qigong method and was told that my headaches were not a result of the practice but a coincidence. I was also told not to stop practicing the Qigong method and that my migraines would go away. Unfortunately, they have not gone away. I am desperately trying to find relief. Can anyone help me to move this Qi? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

AnonymousGuestHi Toni,
sorry to hear about your problems. As you don’t say who the teacher is or what their method is it’s impossible to comment about that.
All sorts of odd things can happen when you practice powerful Qigong methods. In this tradition Bruce always has people start out with standing and dissolving as this creates clear, safe pathways for qi to exit your system. Once you have clear downward pathways established it is safer to work with the upward flows. Unfortunately many other schools emphasize getting quick results over safety.
I have a couple of suggestions that might help you
1. Have a look at the Energy Arts instructors list – http://www.energyarts.com/energy-arts-instructor-community
If there is an instructor nearby then reach out to them and ask about learning outer dissolving
2. Have a look at the Energy Gates progam – http://www.energyarts.com/store/products/dvds/energy-gates-qigong-dvd-and-online-training-program
Bruce goes through the dissolving process in this seriesBest wishes
Trevor
