I’ve noticed that most of the Internal Methods seem to require having a basic amount of “internal-power” (as well as the ability to emit/activate, and sustain, it- in the creating a shape). Thus the flow of FaLi (or Fajin) is begun to form and then hold the shape against gravity – thus is then held as a practice to generate power (both as practice of that flow, as well as it specifically opens up and links the circulation…) but if one doesn’t have that beginning ability to emit power and/or if one doesn’t have the ability to actualize internal-power to create, and hold, a posture.

(let alone any other forces, like movement or external pressure– and if add say “An” downward pressure, as in SanTi.. then one needs to overcome NotOnly Gravity, but also the force of An…. – this requires the above, as well as the abilty to create the “An” via a separate “Internal-power” flow… so can one generate two different FaLi flows simultaneously that conflict? (the up, from the ground, via a loosened system- so as to create the shape, and then the down, An-sink.. which requires that first “up” to increase further)…

.. if one doesn’t have this beginning, then one is either practicing holding a static isometric shoulder position… or trying to build that initial “capital” to begin and enter the gate of the “arena- field of play”. (sort of like minimum capital to open a trading account… one needs those initial funds, and then needs access to be able to setup an acct.. and not lose that intial seed-corn).. like wise even if have that minimal ability to run flow, it has to be in the format that can be used for the practice that will generate a return, vs just practicing doing XYZ.. (the idea is that one doesn’t just gain skill of XYZ from your practice- say standing-post. etc.. ~SanTi but that one gains an ROI (return on investment/Return on Initial Capital, and the assoc IRR).

    — Of course the above isn’t covered explicitly in many of the presentations out there.. (I hope this issue makes sense).

I’ve just noticed a trend in different places (online comments and such) of people who may have learned, or even agreed, with the ‘party-line’ that ‘its all physical’/mechanics/qi-as-metaphor.. now look to try and follow concepts of using chi, and think to jump-in.

Not sure if this is I Chuan mention gaining popularity, or what, but that is something to be Thankful, the opening. to even ask how-to.

–(but as the question, if I can’t feel qi, and if I don’t know how to ‘use it’ to affect, then how do I practice using qi to affect myself, in say Zhuan Zhang, or what-have-you.
-that is a puzzle- seems you need to start at the beginning; doesn’t take long, just realize the steps. -once can feel, then can use.. if can’t feel, might reeval the method you’re using.) Either way, I’m thankful for these arts, the yrs it took me to find more effective ways (back when only in magazine classifieds, articles or VHS, or even audio, tapes.. unless you lived near.. -no searchable listing-directory :) up-to-now… many diffferent paths (not all go the same way, nor to the same-place/end).

    cheers all
