    Hi

I’ve just started practicing scanning and sinking chi and Tai Chi in the morning before Work 5am-6am. I’m about to start Dragon & Tiger qigong in the evenings for an hour . Would it be detrimental if I also began meditation (water method) in the evenings also? Is that too much? I’m keen and willing to put the hours in so my question is really about whether that routine is too much? With my full time job I can’t space out the sessions in a day any better than I’ve planned.

    Any input would be appreciated.

Ps has anyone heard any news of a release date for Bruce’s new book on the I Ching ?

    Peace
    Steve

    Nice schedule Steve,

But, don’t underestimate how much energy it takes to meditate.
You might assume it takes zero energy—wrong!

I always found that at the end of the day, I did not have enough energy to sustain a quality meditation for an hour.

Solution: do it at 2 a.m.
An hour and a half of sleep before midnight is the best quality sleep.
    Energy is restored after then.

1 hour of meditation from 2-3,
it’s nice and quiet then, too.
then 2 hours of good REM sleep before starting your day with Qi and Tai Chi from 5-6.

For me that time after midnight was wasted restless sleep anyway:
weird dreams, body starting to heat up, bathroom visits, cat prowling, etc.

If you establish your energy work as a regular routine, your mind and body will adjust.

    Good luck.

    Hi Robert

Thank you for the reply. I would never have contsidered such a schedule : very interesting!

I will mull this over as it sounds very sensible in terms of creating the best conditions for getting the most out of the practice.

Thanks again Robert – much appreciated.
    Peace
    Steve
