AnonymousGuestIn module 4 of the BMP, Bruce describes 5 physical layers of tissue that correspond to the first five Taoist bodies: physical, etheric, emotional, mental, physic. I think the 6th is the bones and the seventh is the bone marrow. I’d also guess that the eighth is the tai chi space. Does anyone have notes from any other class or seminar where Bruce listed all eight layers?
I seems like the BMP lays out a progression where you slowly and methodically open each layer going deeper and deeper into the body until you find the tai chi space. It is from there that you start to understand emptiness and begin opening up the understanding of emptiness until you have a full comprehension of it.

AnonymousGuestI went back to Module 4 written material looking for more information on the first 5 layers. I didn’t realize that Bruce never said what they were. There is an un-ordered, incomplete list of tissue that the first 5 layers comprises (blood vessels, muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia, etc.), but no detail. Each is just referred to generically as layer 1, layer 2, layer 3, layer 4, and layer 5.
Does anyone have notes from other seminars or classes or Bruce’s books where these are detailed?

AnonymousGuestAt the moment, I’m simply assuming that the first layers are too intricately intertwined to describe them in words; otherwise, Bruce would have done so.
So, how do you sort them out?
I know what the physical feels like (most of it anyway). I also have the ability to work with the etheric body. I can feel when the etheric gets clearer and more tangible. I’m using the unconscious to pay attention to the body while feeling the etheric. I’m trying to find and feel how they are directly connected. I need to use the unconscious because I need to pay attention to “thousands” of things at once.
In other words, I’m using the ability to feel and work with etheric field as feedback to find and open the channels inside the body. This seems to work pretty well. I’m making steady progress daily with improving. This is something that is quite rare in my experience. Usually progress comes in fits and starts or big bursts.

AnonymousGuestI have really wondered about the layers as well in accordance to the Taoist bodies. From what you said James seems very logical. I wish I knew 100% though…

AnonymousGuestI continue to practice as described above and continue to have success, steady progress.
For whatever reason I’m gravitating toward the Wind Palm Change as the primary expression. The practice brings out yin/yang lengthening and feels a lot like Marriage of Heaven and Earth only more complete.
At first I was gaining much more control over the movement of fascia along the yin and yang channels. Then it started to get more generic – it didn’t matter which sides of an arm, leg, torso, or the head I chose, the other side would compliment it with an opposing flow. Later it started to emphasize center to periphery and periphery to center flows into and out of the internal organs.
This makes sense. The Heaven and Earth palms are mixing. When I perform the Earth Palm Change, I don’t move the etheric along a pathway; instead, I drop the whole etheric body down no matter what the physical body is doing. Heaven emphasizes the expansive, up energy. In the Wind Palm they are mixing, but not in a random fashion. It is organized a lot like Marriage of Heaven and Earth but more abstract.
Another strange thing, the perineum suddenly became an important aspect of the palm change and in particular how the legs complete the flows on the yin side. This reminds me of learning the Wind Palm in New York where Bruce began with the perineum.
Playing with the Thunder Palm, I find that it wants to focus on the spine and starts to feel like the neigung set Bend the Bow.

AnonymousGuestI agree. I know Epic Peters has notes from various events with Bruce where the first layers were laid out. I just don’t recall.
That said, my approach is pretty straight-forward. I’m assuming that I will revisit each palm change for each of the eight Taoist bodies. The goal being to fully integrate the energetic body in the Lake Palm Change and then return to the Heaven Palm and start all over again with the next one.
At the moment Fire, Water, Mountain, and Lake seem more obvious to me. Ironically, the earlier palm changes are less clear.
BTW, eight palm changes times eight energy bodies is 64.

AnonymousGuestI started more generally. Now the practice is getting more precise. Instead of feeling the general etheric field and connecting to the physical layer, I’m starting to focus more and I’m using the concept the further you go out, the further you go in.
So, in the Heaven palm I’m working just outside the skin and activating only one side channel at a time. In the Earth Palm Change, I go out a little further and connect to both yin and yang lengthening in the fascia at the same time. In the Wind Palm Change I’m going in deeper to the cavities and internal organs while going out a little further than in the Earth Palm Change.
In the Thunder Palm I’m connecting the next etheric layer to the nerves and spine. In the FIre Palm, I’m connecting the etheric to the bones. In the Water Palm, I’m going out a little further and connecting to the bone marrow. In Mountain, I’ll connect the Tai Chi space. In the Lake Palm I’ll integrate it all into one thing.
