It is said that the biggest secret to Qigong is to not think about qi at all, but rather to focus on something clean entering your body and something dirty exiting it.

(sarcastically, this lines up with traditional chinese philosophy as I understand it, so I was not surprised to hear that I had taken the wrong approach for some time now)

I played soccer today. I have played for literally my whole life, and it is my favorite sport.

I haven’t played in two years, though, so my endurance is on the low. I got a stitch. It is said, also, that pain means there is poor energy flow. With no “feeling” of Qi, or anything more than an expectation, I began to breathe, feel my torso, lungs, and imagined circulation through the whole of my body. No “QI” feeling, or understanding of what it really feels like, or how it really moves. But my stitch went away almost immediately, And I was able to continue playing.
