when I began practicing tai chi I was really concerned with my balance and legs strength because I was 62 and I wasn’t able to wash my left foot while standing on the right foot . So, what?
What has been helping me a lot, not only regarding tai chi but also in my tennis practice, is the practice of zhan zhuang. I spent a lot of time and money getting information on this practice and after going over 5 books and authors I have been sticking with master C S Tang’s The Complete book of Yquan, practicing his health stances.
It’s remarkable my improvement in strength and balance. I’ve had no problems moving from stance to stance in tai chi standing 100% in one leg and slowing moving the other. Today I spend around 45 minutes with ZZ and then go over taichi or chi kung.
