I am new to the internal energy arts and have started practicing Qigong and Tai Chi on my own, mostly based on the books and DVDs from Energy Arts. As I am mostly interested in the spiritual and energetic side of the these disciplines (in contrast to the combat arts), Bagua exerts a special pull on me due to its direct integration in Taoism and the I Ching (which I desire to understand and embody). I have two questions for which I’d be most appreciative for any feedback:

    1. Am I trying to learn too much by beginning study of Bagua at the same time I am learning the basics of Tai Chi and Qigong?

    2. Is the Bagua Mastery Program suitable for a beginner to initiate self-study?

    Many thanks in advance!

John, Bruce’s ba gua program is well suited to beginners. You can start with the book “The Great Stillness” for basic walking practice, or you can take the plunge and get the Ba Gua Program. It takes you through the basic training very slowly with great detail.
Ba Gua is really fun and quite addictive once you get into it. Tai Chi is also a sister art and they inform one another greatly.
    Good luck!
