    Cell phones emit radio frequency magnetic fields which are waves of energy. Less than an hour of usage speeds up brain activity in the area closest to the phone antenna. This creates an inflammatory response in the brain.

    What can meditation do to prevent or cure this new hazard that we are all exposed to?

    I know that standing meditation allows negative ions to enter through the bubbling well in your feet to counteract undesirable positive ions.

    Any thoughts on this issue?

    We should certainly attend to hazards in our environment, we should also be aware of the relative merits of accurate information, and the challenges posed by high profile misinformation in the media.

    I’d like to see the credible scientific evidence that cell phones do what you suggest. My understanding is that there is no credible evidence of the relatively very weak radiomagnetic signal strength generated by cell phones being a significant risk to health; and certainly no evidence of any acceleration of brain function, or inflammetory response in the brain. That said, I’m aware of the ‘precautionary principle’ being applied in the general advice that children should avoid overexposure of their developing and thus sensitive brains to even the weak signals from a cell phone (or wireless home phone).

    I’d also be interested in reading the credible evidence of significant negative ion flow into the bubbling well point.

    Here’s my take on cellphones and meditation practices: learning to meditate can create the space and well-being necessary to be comfortable with ourselves and within our own skin, hence negating the necessity of constantly and incessantly being in communication with people at any given time or any place we happen to be. :)

    I think you’re right about the credible evidence. Suggestions I have heard from the media to mitigate exposure are to text, use an ear piece, or use the speaker phone features. Keep it away from your head.
