In the Bagua Mastery Program, when I’m doing the warm up exercises, once I assume a particular posture and position my hands and arms a certain way, I will immediately feel a change in the flow of chi in my body that matches the description of chi flow in the instructions. Since I don’t currently have access to a teacher who can correct my mistakes, I’m interpreting this change in the chi as an indication that my posture and movements are being done correctly. Is it a good idea to do the same sort of thing when learning Tai Chi, or should I ignore the internal aspects until I have mastered the external form?
Cheers,
Nick
