I’m at the very beginning of understanding what emptiness is about. Everything in Bagua leads to something that Bruce has taught for many, many years: first open the lower, then open the upper, then use the lower and upper to open the middle. It is from this middle, the heart-mind, that you can start to understand emptiness.
This is step six in Liu’s Overview. 6) For spirituality, learn about the chi of spirit and emptiness so you can eventually understand the chi that enables you to know who you are.
It is only after you have access to emptiness that you really start to methodically work through the progression jing, Chi, shen, wu, tao.
Integration at each step along the way is paramount.
