Thanks Dan for getting us together!
The Dragon and Tiger training was indeed a rich and stimulating exprience, full of mind opening possibilities and practical ways of feeling and moving chi from the outside to the inside of the body!
The implications and applications of these skills to other qi gong sets, internal marital arts and meditation are far reaching – I can’t wait to explore them fully! For instance, being constantly connected to the energy of the earth and its interface with the body at the level of the etheric field below the feet powers any upward or outward movement, regardless of form. Having a systematic way of training that engages with and releases stagnant chi opens the body and mind towards the dissolving practices. Learning to tune the mind to feel chi in such a way that the focus of the awareness is not too intense (which blocks chi) or too lax (which disconnects from the body) and getting immediate feedback through the felt sensations of the hands and arms are excellent tools for both meditation and body alignment improvements. The emphasis on circularity and the simplicity of the 7 movements through which this is trained illuminated many questions I had about it in other forms …. I’ll stop here but the list goes on!
Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this set and what it does…
Thanks again for getting us together!
