AnonymousGuestHello,
I am having trouble fitting the different programs together. I have the Longevity DVD, Daoist Breathing CD and Relaxing into your Being. I am member of the Daoist Meditation Circle and Tao Te Ching meditation group. Could someone clarify how these different programs fit together, i.e. progression through them? Am I correct in saying that you start with the Longevity breathing, then continue with the Relaxing Into Your Being breathing, to go then to the Daoist meditation circle and end with the TTC meditation? Or can you just pick one and stick with that? I am bit in a loss here.

AnonymousGuestHi Jan,
Bruce often describes all the taoist subjects as a circle. You can start anywhere on the circle and start learning. Over time, you’ll go through all the subjects over and over again, each time learning the material at a deeper level.
My advice would be to figure out which of the programs appeal the most to you and study that. If you look forward to practice and you’re really enjoying what you are learning, chances are you’ll work hard at it and see lots of benefits.
I think your idea to start with the longevity breathing is a great place to start.
Hope this helps,

AnonymousGuest<haha, edited to not repeat Janak’s great advice!>
Hi Jan,
If you’re feeling overwhelmed with all the different learning resources, don’t worry. Everything you’re talking about is connected to the other ones, so you don’t have to feel like you’ve got them all or need to do them all.
I did an interview with Senior Instructor Paul Cavel about layering all these practices together. Maybe that can help you make some sense of it too? http://dankleiman.com/2013/01/29/3-layers-of-neigong-practice-and-taoist-meditation-with-paul-cavel/ He does a great job of explaining how they’re interrelated.
Let me know if that makes sense.
Thanks,
Dan

AnonymousGuestGentlemen,
Thank you for the advice. As said, I will start with the Longevity Breathing, and have a listen to the podcast.
