I have been catching up with my viewing and have been riveted by the narration of the history of Bagua in particular, and how it has been gradually eroded from the original source. Of course the cultural revolution played a major part, but by all accounts this erosion from the original source was already underway. (Live Mastery Classes)

The antiquity of the source is unknown. It came from somewhere in the region of the Kunlun mountains. There are stone carvings that describe these practices and oral tradition suggests they existed for however many generations before…

I am really asking for a more precise timeline of how many thousands of years ago, or AD or BC or whatever. Please.

The reason I am asking is that I have a keen interest in human history, and there have, in recent years, been many discoveries, and very cogent and deeply convincing arguments, that cast a very different light on our our whole history, and which may provide very illuminating perspectives on the history of these internal arts.

I say illuminating because the depth and sophistication of these arts are obvious and their origins are shrouded in mystery.

But some external arts are equally sophisticated, and there is evidence now, I believe, of their own immense antiquity and also their mysterious origins…
