How is the building of the “Sphere” – as a concrete shape, as well as the Iching concept, linked to the building of the infrastructure “Carrier wave” (as Bruce has called it), not so much as an Energy-Field-charge, but as a layer, a material to write a msg/a “quality” upon.

Feeling the CNS (not the specific thoughts or feelings, not even the actual signals, but the distortions of), which is not mind, nor even chi.. but part of the body.. the nerve charge (like talking on the phone, and there being a hiss or crackle, or hum.. that is a distortion of the signal that is carrying the “speech-signal”, vs it being in the background).

I wonder if any are working with the tabula-rasa in the sense of holding a steady-carrier-wave (the signal, whatever its quality, or volume-changes, let alone any signal-msg on that carrier-wave, to the extent that the carrier-wave holds steady, its like a piece of paper you can write on, or a table to arrange pieces, if that table shakes -let alone falls apart- one can’t work-upon it… think of a reflection that is on the surface of the water on a pond, if it is still the “water’s surface” can hold an image. If you tap the surface, the ripples break-up the image… (can your mirror be without stain, can you respond like a mirror or an echo, can you retain the Great-Image?)

-Two major aspects of this tabula-rasa “steady surface” upon which (the carrier wave you then build a signal on), is:
-how steady, continuous and linked, and not overly staticy the nervous-system is
    , and secondly:
-the Egates in joints (first each joint starts to cycle KAI-HE, very little motion, but smoothly linked, and builds a charge like a dynamo.. -I used to think the key of open-close was to push with the jts, but the movement is small… perhaps.. but as the tiny movement links, and creates a charge, and other jts also- Egates are activated.. when a few are activated, they start to reach out and link up.. then a current flows between them (a macro version of the cycling-turn-over in each egate).. when the entire body “lights-up” (or at least a large area, like a leg, or both legs.. then “upon that foundation-flow a signal ~carrier-wave builds up.
[As Bruce has taught- before Heaven&Earth can be linked, in marriage, there has to be something that can link them, as well as mix and be altered by what mixes.. store it.]

A third dynamic can be developed (separately, then later together), which is the turning/rotating which has three “modes”.. rotating one-way, rotating the-other-way (whichever- the two dirs), and third: the flip-change-pt. each place a turning-rotating occurs, have those three “modes” occur, then seamlessly link, then mesh so there isn’t a difference or jolt as changes “mode” but rather they are three aspects of “one-thing” [Later thus occurs in more areas, linking up like the egates do into a linked flow.. and as Twisting engages, this stabilizes.. ]

As each of these three are separately developed, then interact they should stabilize and deepen the others..

    see these…

    03_10 Flowing With Change

Related to what enables the above (and what above enables)…
12_24 Exploring the Sphere – releasing “inertia” (clutching, stuck-pts), but also “momentum” (stuck in a rut, programmed-pattern) vs being free-present-able-to-act… you need a “Powerful Stability” and then a release-in-it (and a sense of “completion” -loop done, finished= clean)

Note: something just quickly touched upon, but I find huge, is that in a palm change, there are say 4 steps (the initial Kou that starts it, secondly the Bai step, then third the part-Kou, part-Bai -taught in this as more a straight step, rather than wrapping that outer pole to formalize the palm-change-side-switch; finally fourth, the opposing Kou step- the along the circle outside-step, rather the larger-Kou/Ba start to change-dir….)— point being 4 steps (L,R,L,R for ex).. and each step has 3 pts (one foot suspended the other supporting, both near and in; and foot reaching out-fwd (before and after compress into ground), and foot reaching behind (before and after un-compress from contact with ground, before begin to pull foot in-under).
-thus 4steps x 3 pts, that = 12 places in basic single-palm change of suspension, the pt of stillness (more explicitly mentioned in TaiChiChuan, but seems more integrated in BaguaZhang).. and changes to work on noticing and releasing any binding/clutching/resistance/inertia (or momentum), or gaps/fog/disassoc tendencies..
(even twice that = 24, if you have a pt during the change between each of the “3 pts” .. thus in a single step: 6, 3 stable-stance positions, and 3 in motion-transitions.. a double step (left step, then right step).. 12 (include the turn/twist flips, which is 4 per- rotate, flip-change, rotate-other, flip-change, etc… and the Egates, and CNS-PNS, kept steadily linked and connected).

..how minimal can the three switching-flows go without “Breaking the thread”? like how slow can the engine (of a car, say) idle, before it dies…. thus minimum expenditure.. ? Then like an engine- each of the aspects being parts of a whole “running engine” but fine-tune different vibrating parts to enable it to hum just a bit more..

    =========================
    On a slightly different note:
I was going to put this last thought in a different post, but its also touched on in the video above (Module 12 Video 24 “Exploring the Sphere”)
“Where there is a back there is a front…. going out, is also going in….”. –this is something contacted in the “warmups” .. but wires-in via the stepping (the pendulum isolation-practice I recommended on a prior post- ie standing on one-foot, the suspended foot reach fwd, then back in, then backwards, then back in-below, then fwd, etc… ).
First feel the corresponding-balance-pt (as reach fwd, the pt behind is felt, as you extend further fwd, feel the opposing-pt extend further behind… helps you isolate/locate the central-axis line in body.. reference that axial-line, while you connect to the spine, pulling-silk fwd and back simul: either “out” (as extend), or “in” (as withdraw).
then from a line- with a front and back, feel as a ring- standing in a hula-hoop.. balance out the pts of that line-layer.. (growing and shrinking ring).

-I name a drill the “Happy Penguin” stand, hands/arms hang at sides, raise your sort-of straight-arms outward (ie never locked- as over-time add in the above, CNS-PNS, Egates of Jts and twisting, etc…) … go more to 45 degrees rather than all the way up, like a scarecrow.. but that is the idea.. each arm extends to the side a bit (and raises some).. focus on one hand (left say) it moves Left, while also movement felt on right… (and then arms swing back in, let then drop and slaps thighs.. like a penguin?)
feel the entire sense of space growing to the sides, but also front and back (a growing “Sphere”- either as a cylinder.. or as a ball– but a cylinder is easier to include more dropping down legs, and further down-under).
[see Module 11 video 44 “Spherical Qualities in the Upper and Lower Body”]

[later: as that ring grows- simul feel it shrinking.. the two-sides of a circle, like a conveyor-belt… as going-outward from the inner-most pt, there is a movement from the outer-most pt coming-inward to balance it out…]

Note how this can be in “palm strike” (and drill and cutting).. (tendency may be to feel a line of force out reaching arm, as a line of force comes “in” withdrawing arm- perhaps linked through torso.. but that is a linear flow, and isn’t a “Sphere”… Feel like a big inflated balloon bubble is around you, and as you reach-push fwd, the balloon expands to the limits of your reach, and simul expands that much behind you, and to the sides.. and it comes back-in as you “bend”/fold.. –or it stays, and continues to expand, a bit (not too much, enough to stay stable and steady) even as you withdraw/bend… and then either hold or expand (a bit- keep it even and stable) as you reach again…. feel all sides, behind will likely always be weaker then front or even sides… (and inside along with outside.. meaning both inside “skin” -inside subtle-sensations- inside mental-emotional flux space, not the “thoughts” which are feelings rep’d in body.. as well as inside “aura” vs outside, beyond it.. not jumping here and there, but notice each minimal-lvl just to keep them in awareness, not more.. then they start to mesh and link up…
(and then inform and integ with carrier-wave and the “msg” being built-upon that tabula-rasa, kept linked and contacting).
    ************
Note how the above, informs the First Swing of Opening the Egates… Include in that (and the “palm strike” warmup) also “Turning to the left” one is also balancing with a sense of “turning to the Right” (as you rotate the central-axis line, ZhongDing, and “turn”/rotate one-way, balance that, just as going fwd=back & in=out… .. then “turn” ZhongDing, can later become “twisting” which does-not mean breaking the 4 pts, the spine and shoulder-hips stay aligned.. the technical twisting referring to the “engagement” as in the soft-tissue twist (then spiral)….

    * thus sphere can swirl like an expanding whorl (a spiral, seen from above) turning one-way, simul absorbing back in that same-spiral the opposite way, and a second spiral going the opposite direction (even though one is moving corresponding to one, there is a sense of stability on place, and access-pt ? to stillness in motion….) —condensed into the reversing swing, one’s presence fills that space….
This sort of sphere- one’s entire frame, as well as many parts of (egates in each jt, and each pocket-cavity) seems a core of BaguaZhang, and the balancing of centre where one is (even as that “centre-pt” steps and moves.. it is still).. this above seems to be something I’ve sensed in BaguaZhangNeiGung for yrs, but haven’t got before.

(what is the entirety of the dynamic of a palm change, say the double palm, not as individual pieces, but all at once as a flow, start to finish, and then change a second time, reverts back to the starting-pt where one-is… feel that whole swirl-flow in the same way that the swing can be felt as a whole, steady “strange-attractor” both stillness-in-motion, but also a path one can feel as an entire, as well as flow along..)
