    Hello everybody,

This is not a “need to know” but something that I am just straight up curious about (not even sure if anyone knows the answer). But did Liu have some routine that he did everyday. I know he practiced Hsing I in the morning, but I’m curious as to what the rest of his day was like. Was he one of those guys that woke up at like 3-4am or did he just wake up whenever? Did he spend his days healing people? How much time a day did he spend practicing martial arts? How much time did he spend in sitting meditation? etc. Seems like a cool dude and I’d like to know more about him.

Not just a cool dude, but also one of attainment.. each is worthy of interest (and appreciation), but both– yet I think the issue is the three stages:
first one is trying to figure out what is going-on, and development a foundation..
second one has ‘figured-it-out’ and thus has a plan, and completes it [to achieve a purpose- an end-result… and
third.. one has (hopefully, eventually) achieved that purpose, reached a level of transformation and development.

Different people are seeking different ends (in different styles and manners).. and at different stages… – in other words, what this person did in the ‘first stage’ .. earlier in his life, differs from later-middle, and at end.. (This may sound obvious and abstract, but IF one has achieved a high-level.. not so many have.. but what ever level.. what one does “there”.. is not the same as what they did to get-there, to be able to do what they now-do..)

Just as context- in his last years, maintenance of what was developed, as well as using these high-degree capacities (one could work with aspects that others are not even familiar with), vs thinking that practice is what go him there…

*even saying that he practiced the neigung set “Gods Playing in the Clouds” -I wonder if what he did (especially inside his experience) is even remotely like what I understand that set to be
(in the sense that I know there are aspects of that set that are beyond me… and how much a % of significance? ie if most of the Oomph! is from doing what we might know of.. or new capacities.. let alone much of what we work on now, he mastered and was teaching in his twenties… so a decade or so later they likely became second-nature? -so if we hear did XYZ, and yet we understand that to entail is doing 123.. but “123” is just like “Breathing”…
(in other words- do TaiJiChuan and “work” on the 4 energies.. vs just a slight out-reaching “automatically” your system- subcon, and deeper, spontaneously pengs and/or Jis.. without any effort, and yet with fully connection. Not a sense of more- greater degree of same, but something diferent.. [Once you learn the letters, and then some words.. then can grasp or at least aspire to poetry… or can you even grasp set-theory and combinatoric-formulas, when algrebriac-logic hasn’t become second-nature, which of course requires add&subtract first…. :) ]

Above mostly came from the idea about time spent in sitting mediation- one who was declared enlightened by recognized Buddhist lineage, and then worked with Taoist hermits that he found and was eventually said to have become a living ‘TaoistImmortal’ .. – before all that, sitting meditation meant one thing (and was being done to achieve meditation development), and after those declarations of attainment (one would be “doing meditation” in-order-to achieve an attainment.. although there is always further…)

“There is nothing that does not further…” -concept paraphrase from the ‘Chou I Ching’

could be tricky as Bruce’s intense training with him, in latest years- they both met in order to transmit knowledge, so how much of his routine and time was being attuned and set towards that (and time between, or before that, differ?) -but Bruce has mentioned a range, where he did some of this and that depending (and he gives some principles of what he practiced in the EnergyArts TrainingCircle “2nd round”)

Anyway- I hope the above doesn’t seem to talk around the question- rather than directly address, but if one said “___” the question is when, and the context.. (and applicability.. if hear, at the end of his life, and after he had attained and developed he did “___” so that is what i will do, seems could be misleading; not that you implied that, but as an issue in the question.)

[Let alone personality type, as it was mentioned this person was quite the “metal-type-element” or as Bruce put it, one of the few people that he felt mentally puny and dim in the presence of- not literally, but relatively… as the quality of mind.. so much was said in very few words and gestures, with such weight.. so as an ‘intellectual’ one would have a different persona, and routine, than one that is other-type.]

    cheers
