AnonymousGuestI was wondering how many in this group are going to Brookline Tai Chi for the Taoist Meditation class Bruce is teaching. If there are a bunch of us, would anyone like to have an informal Meditation Circle get-together, just to talk to each other and toss a few ideas around? I’m taking Dragon & Tiger as well, so will have time between the end of that class and the start of the meditation class. I think there’s two hours inbetween.
Just a thought!June 16, 2011 at 11:09 pm #131193
AnonymousGuestHi, Catherine. I’m doing the seminar, too. I’ll keep an eye out for you or someone I think might look like you. Or maybe you can look for me since my picture is by my posts. Let’s see how many from the circle are there.

AnonymousGuest……yes, it would be great to hear highlights of what we missed. I’m hoping to attend Bruce’s meditation weekend in London and could do similar.

AnonymousGuestThe seminar was very interesting and I’m glad I went. Bruce concentrated on advanced techniques (to me) to be used during inner dissolving: things definitely beyond the scope of the Meditation Circle. He did mention the Circle and that he’s recorded directions for 8 months. I think he mentioned that he plans for 16 months of content for the circle. I met Catherine there (and realized I had seen her at quite a few Brookline Tai Chi/Bruce Frantzis events). It will be interesting to hear her comments.

AnonymousGuestJust to add a little to what Matthew said, everything Bruce exposed us to during the seminar underscored the importance of the basics for me. The basic training of being able to track different sensations in the body, whether you’re talking about meditation or nei gong, develops your capacity to be present with ever-more subtle sensations.
I always think of a marathon analogy. You can be standing at the starting line and have someone describe the terrain at mile 10 or 20 or the finish line, but it’s only really relevant to you if you can run there yourself. Otherwise, I guess it’s nice information, but it’s not the same a running there, and running there with enough stamina to actually enjoy it when you get there.
Training live with Bruce always feels like a marathon and he helps you get a little further down the course each time.
That said, if you ever get a chance to learn pulsing inside sitting or lying meditation with him, it’s incredible!
