Dang! I can’t find it now.
With the recently added material, I’m on overload–overwhelmed with information.

Can anyone help me find it again?

In one of the recently added bagua palm-change lessons,
Bruce talked about the flow of energy to and from the Mingmen and the Lower Dantian.
He said that the weaker connection was from the Mingmen (on the spine) to the lower dantian
and to work on it first (I think.)
The stronger flow of energy was from the Lower Daintian (on the central channel?) to the spine, entering at Mingmen.
And to work on this later.

I don’t understand all the implications of this.

I need to review that Lesson.

Or have one of you more advanced players embellish on it (James? Taokua?).

Sorry I don’t remember the module and video lesson where he talks about this. Your quote captures what I remember Bruce saying. I don’t recall that he elaborated more than that.

You stated the real problem when you wrote “I’m on overload–overwhelmed with information.”

    OK
It’s at Module 12: Wind Palm Change
    Lesson 02: The Six Combinations

    * Connect the spine to the lower tantien,
rather than starting with the lower tantien and connecting to the spine.

One should move the arms and legs from the spine at the same time and rate.

He says when starting not to try to start the flow from the lower tantien first and then connecting to the spine.

Since I have not done it either way I guess I’d better start practicing the Six Combinations the correct way.

I think the problem stems from a fundamental problem with all of the online content – it is all mixed up.

Bruce is teaching some of the advanced material that corresponds to the palm change and level it implies and at the same time teaching beginner material that should have already been learned and mastered. This is both helpful and a big problem. It is helpful because you get a review or introduction depending on where you are at. It is a problem because you can’t sort out what should be done and in what order.

As Bruce mentions in the video, the connection to the spine was taught in Marriage of Heaven and Earth and in the neigung set Bend the Bow and Shot the Arrow. MHE teaches lengthening. BTB takes all of that material and connects the arms, legs, and head to the spine. There is a clear learning progression.
