In Module 7 video lesson 02, Bruce starts to discuss posture #2 refinements. Why didn’t he start with posture #1? And what is he talking about “the tan tien starts to absorb”?

From my perspective it all makes sense. Posture #1 is the whole sequence. Here Bruce is detailing the flip in the lower tan tien. This is the yin side of posture #2. More accurately he is simply discussing periphery to center. The out was easier. Going in is a little more difficult for most people.

Both happen from your core, but going out is easier for most. Going in isn’t that difficult if you built your foundation properly. At this point Heaven and Earth should be making more sense to you; otherwise, you’ve probably missed the whole point.

This is the way that all of it works. Yang. Yin. Both yin and yang. Neither yin nor yang.

Neither yin nor yang seems to be the transition to shen and requires “Both yin and yang” to be mastered in a relaxed manner.

All of the postures where Bruce talks about the hands connecting typically happens when both yin and yang are accessible simultaneously. That’s a sort of physical manifestation of the philosophical Tai Chi space. We are trying to get to neither yin nor yang where the mind is non-local and we find emptiness.
