AnonymousGuestI remember seeing an article/blog Bruce penned in which he gave some instructions for what to do around psychic vampires (I believe it was dissolving into the central channel and lower tan tien), and, it occurred to me that there are people who are, karmically/naturally, psychic vampire bait…does this resonate with anyone else?
I personally feel this way about myself, when I look at my life in-total and realize that the most disturbing/uncomfortable periods were those in which I “forgot” or refused to admit this in myself. Yet, when I went with it, life was grand (or at least exponentially less distressful). However, with discovering Bruce and Dissolving, I think that just going with it/living with it is no longer an option (like just living with being crippled when one discovers a new medical procedure that restores your capacities).
Yet, I’d also be lying if I didn’t admit that I secretly fear that this means I’m a psychic vampire (i.e. you get bite, etc.) or that this is an elaborate sublimation from realizing said.

AnonymousGuestHey Cody,
I think I know what you mean. I think another term for someone with that pattern would be an enabler.
A friend, let’s call her Molly, was recounting how she came to a similiar conclusion to you. She’d been good friends with someone who was a severe alcoholic. This person had a lot of self-destructive tendencies. Molly had been there for her friend time and time again, at great cost to herself. At some point, she realized that she couldn’t do this anymore. That she was destroying her own life to keep her friend going.
I forgot how she described it exactly but it was something like “I can’t keep cutting my wrists open to keep my friend alive.”
Your post reminded me a great deal of that conversation
Hope this helps,

AnonymousGuestHowdy Janak,
Bingo!
I thought what I was on about sounded familiar; felt like I was reinventing the wheel.
This’ll help with applying this to the 10,000 agendas; give it more than one angle of approach.
Helped as hoped,

AnonymousGuestA thought on red-dust and psychic-attack (using the metaphor Liu taught Bruce with the glass of water and dirt):
isn’t this akin to scooping red-dust from your glass, as it were, and dumping it in someone(s) else’s glass?Or, is it more like stirring up someone else’s glass? or is that a more accurate appraisal of psychic-vampirism? or is psychic-vampirism more like sucking the water out of someone else’s glass through your teeth and spitting back the red-dust? (I know, “how does a glass have teeth?”, but the image is clear enough, right?) As if someone takes from you and then roars in your face, “How dare you let me have your red-dust!”, spitting it back at you and leaving a turbulent swirl. Making you feel guilty (“why didn’t I just give them my Consciousness? why do I always end up giving them my red-dust?”) and them feeling righteous and justified (“I knew it!! They’re trying to poison me with their problems when I’m getting what I deserve/need!”).

AnonymousGuestWhen Bruce teaches about meditation he often talks about how one way to think about meditation is it’s the process of “moving beyond influence”.
When someone blasts you with energy and it upsets you, it’s because it hit some blocks or red dust inside of you. If you didn’t have blocks inside of you, the energy would pass through you and wouldn’t affect you.
For example, let’s say that John Doe is overweight. He has a lot of insecurities about being overweight. It’s a sensitive topic for him. If someone comes along and says “John, you’re so fat, why would anyone want to date you?”. This would stir up all the red dust inside John. He’d feel hurt, he might feel depressed. It could ruin his day. He might spend the rest of the day thinking about that comment and playing it over and over again in his head. He might have trouble sleeping that night.
Now consider another version of this story. Imagine that John is still overweight, but he’s one of these people isn’t particularly sensitive about it. The same person walks up to him and says the same thing. This time John notices that it was a pretty mean thing to say to someone. He might think “Wow, that guy seems to be having a really bad day. I wonder why he’s so miserable?”. Then his stomach growls and he thinks “I’m hungry, what’s for lunch?” and he goes off and continues his day.
A lot of time the distress you feel is not due to the external events around you. It’s because you have a lot of red dust inside you and something stirred it all up. This is why meditation makes life so much easier to deal with. You keep removing the red dust inside of you and it becomes harder and harder for anyone else to upset you!
Hope this helps,

AnonymousGuestThere are some interesting parallels and concepts here- I’m not sure if the combining/application of the red-dust in water is being linked metaphorically, or as it is applied. -if metaphorically, then it can associate to a viewpt however.. -just that I believe Bruce used that in his meditation texts (from the Liu teaching-story), such that the red-dust is “experience” ….
Thus it confuses the lvls a bit, to reduce it to say the reddust (and thus inner-dissolving enhanced to “int’l alchemy”) is about mind-chatter.
<again as application, it works as a teaching-metaphor, but I think it should be kept distinct to have "meditation" as dealing with daily-stuff, even at a deep-lvl of trauma… and "meditation" when playing the 'bigger-game' (ie Enlightenment)
>
-in other words- is this Meditation (beyond all the Neigung- even “sitting neigung”- works with) to deal with stress/structures….). to get it down below the baseline (as Bruce called it not just cleaning out what develops each day, but delving into to “old-stuff” to get the buried stuff lowered, in addition )…. or “The Meditation Game”?-dealing with the “Mind of Man” (A) , or the Mind of the Tao? (
&(C)
(which also seems to break into what could be termed “Personal Enlightenment” – ie recog the 6th into the 7th Ebody- recognize what one’s inner-nature is….. <what is the essence of the "material" out of which I was/am made, no matter what form I may be shaped into- beyond different role/personas) (
vs “Universal Enlightenment” (going from 7th Ebody towards recognizing not just the material-baseline I am formed of, but of what “The All” is formed of, which then formed the personal (for also formed all else) (C)
Above not to be too-literal a break-down, just I recall Bruce mentioning in the past in talks to sort of set out. ~4 categories [prep, A, B then C… and I think the red-dust, as the Liu metaphor is dealing more in the last-2.. .but of course, again, it is a valuable model-metaphor in other ways. So I don’t mean its not applicable, just that is my understanding of how it used it, and seems the above links sort of blurs contexts… (ie. in that sense, words in one’s head, no thoughts, different thoughts.. different events ocurring, all of that are interpretations of certain swirling of the red-dust… as more red-dust is removed, one can “see the water”.. ie recog essence (B or C above)… yet the events that occur can be exactly the same..
-in other words- one that has achieved personal-essence realization (recog and integ your “nature”) can react just the same as one that hasn’t….. i the same way that one who realizes the Tao (per this metaphor, as I understand- not my expercan act/exper just as one that has not….
But acting from the Mind of Personality-trance, vs acting from the Mind of Man, vs acting from the Mind of Te……. (then from flowing with, and mediating, the Tao)- the motivator of one’s actions are different, cuz of what is driving the action- not just different language-thought-self-talk (nor even a cleaner or less obstructed Energy-Channels)….
-I only mention that, as above seems to interpret this as a psychological-model, and I believe there is more potential there (this coming from my re-reading, taking notes- reOutlining into Bulletpts, then re-reading again (back to the DrawingBoard) those 2 meditation bks (Relaxing into your Being, and The Great Stillness), as I don’t think they are “available” until go into that way (struggle- as the term Bruce references- anyone know the Chinese word/char that is? -always wondered)
======
as an aside, I do find it interesting that some traditions, systems, recipes, etc. have metaphors that mean “something specific” and not interpreted that way, they dont’ seem to work… but say the Martial Classics (oft called the “Tai Chi Classics” as well as the other related ChiGung ‘song-poems’) seem to have many ways they are interpreted, and they “all” seem to have value… (just as does this metaphor of the red-dust mean the “Type” of thoughts-commentary? vs whether one has thought-commentary or not? (inner-quiet, ‘no reaction’)….or does it mean the release/Sung/dissolving the obstruction of the Shinning of Consciousness?
(in the same way that the flow of E via the Echannels is blocked, health of the system as well as a certain action with it; the E of Con is blocked in experiencing through the “system” not of Accu-channels/Egates, nor even a mind-awareness, but Mind-Awareness.. as that is freed.. one “becoming More” (and thus ‘in that place’ -everything involved furthers, thereby)
and I think each of those interps do have a value, (if you see as the last interp, the other applications are available, while if assume it only relates to one’s personality-reaction.. the more expansive-meditation lvls seem to be obscured. -also as Taoism at root isn’t to be just about Human-thought, but also experiences (of nature, physical objtects), but also other types of beings- nonhuman, in other galaxies, even other “Universal contexts” (say a super-dense dwarfstar being, a being spread out in a gaseous state, or even a “non-physical Entity, let alone a thought process that uses no-symbols? no words/selftalk, as well as non-visual…? (how different from the blding blocks we use).. and yet TaoTe- and (Chou) I- Ching(s) are said to relate at this lvl…
[like the in the TaoSexMed bk- the concept of when one recognizes Yin and Yang at a pure lvl (beyond any context of expression, as well as beyond one’s viewpt in an Yin or Yang basis)… then one can have a sold-grounding to transfer in another “life”.. until then, what we experience may not transfer (startover as translate)…. thus the depth of what the Taoist ideals are looking at in terms of “tai-chi/LiangYi”]
…………..
I hope that perspective might be useful, to augment (not distract) from the concrete application-approach in the other posts (as it all comes down to an exercise/drill of moving a bit-fwd from where one is at, now).March 21, 2015 at 3:37 am #134975
AnonymousGuest“moving beyond influence”…
I now see, yet again, how clearly I’ve been avoiding what I need to hear from what Bruce teaches, cause I want to pretend I figured it out for myself and earned it the hard way.
I mean, I felt that way about meditation, but I always thought it was just a delusional aspiration or unreal expectation. That astrology and all that garbage was somehow more important, or as important, as just getting on with business as such; who woulda guessed the sole importance of meditation (he said sarcastically)?yet again, helped as hoped

AnonymousGuestGreat video about Bruce talking about psychic vampires and people who dump on you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2pf0o-gvs4
I feel like I’ve been a pretty big dumper, at present, as, in the past, I’ve allowed people who’ve, outta survival, dumped on me.
But I typify this understanding of allowing people to dump on me for their own survival as by how this used to go for me: I had a ball-python named Titus, and quite a few times, when I would take him out and sling him around my neck, it would roil his guts and he’d relieve himself on me. Yet, if I just would have kept him in his cage and waited for him to, eventually, go, I would have been spared the humiliation of being went on by my pet-snake.
I see this as highly symbolic of how I’ve dealt with people and found myself to be “useful”, but it always left me feeling like crap, not knowing which was mine and which was the person’s snaking down my back.June 4, 2015 at 12:48 am #134977
AnonymousGuestI also feel (looking on the video again) that I’m definitely a candidate for burn-out.
In this regard I feel like a manipulator and vampire, from just sheer-shit overload. Or, maybe just a dumper in order to survive (another way I can interpret my pet-snake physically-dumping on me; seeing it as a sign that, outta survival [first chakra, coiled serpent symbology] and when it gets bad enough for burn-out, I’ll end up dumping on others.).
Maybe I’m in dumping mode because I’m so burnt-out ? -
