AnonymousGuestHello,
I am a complete novice when it come to sinking chi and I really have no idea what I’m doing.
In the third week of the beginners qigong module we are instructed to sink chi from the crown of the head to the third eye.
Do I put my mind on the outside of my head (like water falling down the outside of my body) or the inside of my head (like water filling up my head) or both.
Will someone please be kind enough to point me in the right direction.
Many thanks,

AnonymousGuestHey Adam,
At the beginning you want to put your mind on the outside of your head, trying to feel the surface of the head. Over the years your awareness will gradually sink deeper and deeper inside your body.
Eventually you will want to do both but at the beginning you want to do the outside of your head
Hope this helps,

AnonymousGuestHi Janak,
Thank you for your answer that really helps.
To end the session after sinking chi from the crown of the head to the third eye do I just stop or would I visualise the chi dropping to my feet to end my qigong session?
With the beginners meditation when I am dropping my mind down through my head. I have just been noticing what sensations are there if any from the outside to the inside with no judgement. Is this the correct way to do this or should I stay on the outside of my head with the meditaion as well.
Many thanks,

AnonymousGuestHey Adam,
You can either drop your chi all the way through your body or you can bring it to your lower dantien. Either one works.
If you are just noticing sensations and not doing anything with them. Then it is fine to notice sensations inside and outside the head.
The warning that Bruce has often given is to avoid messing around with sensations inside the brain. Working with the brain is an advanced subject. There are many potential problems that can arise when you start working with the brain, so he advises people to avoid it.

AnonymousGuestHi Janak,
I think I will stay with the outside of the head and if I notice any sensations further in i will just “notice them” and then bring my awareness back to the outside again.
I appreciate you taking the time to help me out.
All the best,
Adam -
