    Hey Endre,

There is probably a lot of flexibility to when you move on from just sinking to attempting to dissolve. I’d suggest keeping an eye on the following markers

    • Sinking chi becomes effortless, whenever you practice it is easy to sink all the way down below your feet. This isn’t an achievement or a big deal, but something you can do easily whenever you feel like it
    • As you practice, you notice that you can sink chi more and more powerfully. That with each pass through your body you can sink more chi then you were able to do in the past. Now, in one pass you can sink the same amount of chi that it used to take you three passes to do
    • You want to get to the point where you can feel blocks easily throughout you body. You should be able to feel blocks all over your body.
    • You should start to notice that blocks come in a great variety. They feel different. There are different types, different intensities.
    • You should notice that just by sinking chi through a block, the block will sometimes shift and change. The same block will feel different the next day.

None of these are hard and fast rules, but if you can do all of those things, then moving on to dissolving seems like a natural next step.

    Hope this helps,
    Janak

I like what Paul Cavel said about sinking; that it’s dissolving stuff to at least water and putting it in the earth.
So that even if a blockage can’t be resolved to gas or inner space you can still end up putting it in its liquid form someplace, where it gets processed or stored or something, until you can release it into its final neutral form.

This connected alot of dots for me about the dissolving process! and what sinking can also mean.
