Is there a relation between Taoist Arts and Fengshui?

Regarding the chinese Wooden Horse year I attended a lecture on fengshui.
Besides de twelve animals and five elements, they also talked about qi, ying-yang polarities,
positive energies ( Sheng Qi 生氣 ) and negative ones (Sha Qi 煞氣 , sansha 三煞 ).

Most definitely. FengShui is essentially geomancy. Feng means wind and shui means water. It pertains to how energy moves on various plains relating to the earth and area in which we live, work, play, eat, sleep, etc.
The information relating to the Year of the Wooden Horse is the BaZi (Eight Characters) which coordinate with the SiZhu (Four Pillars) or Year, Month, Day, and Time that we were born.
There are ShiTianGan (10 Heavenly Stems) as well as ShiErDiZhi (12 Earthly Branches). Each of the Heavenly Stems is divided into 5 different Yin-Yang pairs. YinWood and YangWood, YinFire and Yang Fire, YinEarth and YangEarth, Yin Metal and YangMetal. Each of the 12 Earthly Branches have different animal characters (rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, pig) their own yin or yang energy and what we call hidden gan or hidden energy of the heavenly stems within the earthly branches.
All this information coupled with the information of the bagua superimposed over the area of consideration will reflect the positives and/or negatives in relation to our individual energies.
What we are trying to discern is the best case scenario given the circumstances in our surroundings.
Shelly Wu’s book: The Definitive Book of Chinese Astrology does well to go over some of the astrological info. I haven’t found anything super great on FengShui (I’ve seen a lot out there, but limited because I don’t think they have a very good concept of energy). As the Axiom goes – Know Magic, Shun Magic.
    Anyway…
    Hope this helps you,
    Steve
P.S. The term is XieQi (all bad energy – negative personas, cold and flu virus, measles, allergens, chicken pox, etc.)

Thank you for your thorough explanation Mr. Schermerhorn.

I suppose then that tai chi, qigong masters use fengshui (or consult an expert) to choose the place to practice, and the date to open their schools.
