Firstly I am impressed on the work some members have been doing on these fourms. I tried to get into the BGM mastery program in 2010 but it was closed. Thankfully I am a member now. Baguazhang is just wonderful to practice.

This is just a general question for the Bagua community on everyones thoughs on the 36 and 48 Chants, poems or verses that are are or were passed on from style to style. Just for my own study and trainning, In the past years I have been trying to find western translations of the songs. I have not had many chineese speaking teachers who could speak english very well. Liang Shou-Yu who has verses in his bagua book. His translations came from (Pei Xirong) in the Yin Lineage. Bruce Francis student Frank Allan had them printed in his book I dont remember where his verses came from.

This may be a question to James of some of the advanced Baguazhaang players here.
Has Kumar Franncis ever talked about the verses or his thougts on the subject?

I dont try to over think my practice I just practice and I trust that things will work themselves out.

There is a lot of deep knowleage in the songs.

    regards,

    Paul in Vancouver.

IMO, they are a complete waste of time and energy. They’re just another distraction.
