This just for me to remember something.
Tai Chi’s primary power comes from the blood. Bagua comes from the tendons. All of the 200 palms and postures are based on the foot not the hand. Reflexology is and applied art of adjusting the whole body from the foot. The palms just hint overtly at what is supposed to be done in the foot.
Thunder palm may be associated with the tendon power. That’s why it is in the spine and joints. Use it for the “frequency”. The trigram encodes that the foot is opening to create the closing above in the hands for example. You are creating the yin from an extreme yang. Can’t do this unless you have linked up or connected the upper and lower. You’ll never find it. You’ll always be looking in the wrong place. Hiding it right in front of you.
The tendons start to make the three separate sets of chi obvious. Is this also related to the three layers of the spine/spinal cord? Does the yang lengthening in the tendons take a yin path after the flip?
This phase isn’t about the tendons. It is about the ligaments and the tendons. The ligaments connect bone to bone. The tendons connect bone to muscle.
In my practice, I’ve been opening all of the ligaments in the foot with precision. The real gist of the bubbling well point seems to have a lot to do with the ligaments in the foot. From this point you flood the toes with blood and chi. At the same time this opens lines in the hand. This is all part of the six combinations. If you want to make the fingers strong like Bruce, you need to learn this. All of the openings in Bagua come from that point. In fact, the primary power of every movement seems to be related. When you get to the point is the heal, you have a powerful way to close every joint, muscle and organ simultaneously.
Whether this is part of Thunder or the next palm change, Fire, I’m not sure at this time. I have thought that the Fire trigram might fit. If you think of the trigram as two bones (the upper and lower lines) and the space between them and then ask yourself what connects them – you might see what I see.
It probably doesn’t matter. The point is this is another layer of tissue that has to be trained and mastered. Irregardless of where it fits in.
Certainly the ligaments make you very aware of the bones and the bones are the next layer I expected to work on. I’m guessing there is more to this to come. I will note that this is a good example of the lower opening the upper and of them working together. It also makes spiraling come together and function in the whole body. This seems to be yet another level of spiraling.
Who knows? I’m still working through it.
Nope. This is thunder. Fire is into the bones – literally.
