AnonymousGuestHi all,
I am new to this forum and it seems great. I am posting a new thread as I haven’t found what I experience anywhere else in the forum.
So, I started practicing qigong about 8 months ago. I have started very slowly with first exercises simply involving
deep breathing to first try to relax. I then had a mixture of standing qigong techniques such as embracing the tree, a moving qigong routine such the 8 pieces of brocade and about 20 min meditation. I wouldn’t do all of them at once; I would do the 8 pieces of brocades every morning followed by either meditation or embracing the tree stance.I however very quickly started to experience involuntary tumbling of my right ear each time I tried to perform deep breathing and/or remain static in a calm state (maybe focusing on the dan tian say). As soon as I stop staying still or trying to breath deeply, the phenomenon stops, thankfully!!
I am aware that this is probably due to the fact that I, for some reason, cannot relax properly or maybe, hopefully you will tell me, I tend to accumulate too much chi in my head or in the right ear area or chi just gets stuck there and I need to do something specific about it.
Does anyone have an idea what is going on with what I experience?
Thank you very much.

AnonymousGuestHello there- best wishes to a fellow-seeker of this great type of work
(alright that was the mood-state I found myself in, writing this)…
I think this does make sense to me, [of course the usual disclaimer, I don’t know that much in general, and only interpreting from what you wrote- from afar. etc..] -my first thought, as I had reading this, was experiences I had of releasing inside sort-of a bound-up/on-going tension (both sort of automated-nearly subcon.. but also in the tissues, a nervous tension sort of “holding”).. doing that, the underlying -fluid-flows- as well as other pushes/pulls that were held in place by ‘what released’.. is now set-free (a bit).
In other-words, more specifically- you could have bindings, anywhere (not necesarily near or related to ear/neck etc), let’s say down in the deep abdom cavity-spinal/diaphram support… -then as that (or whereever) releases… what it was pushing-back and resisting..
say the pulse in the neck, or more-so the CSF (cerbral-spinal fluid, or ‘brain-water).. but most likely the pressure of the tissue-str of the ear (inner-canal itself) is allowed to move, and it flexes and shifts.. (like a plastic bottle crushed and tossed in bin.. can start to ‘open-up’ as the crush sort of releases, like crumpled paper into a ball can also do)..
so as the inner-ear-canal can shift its shape, thus the fluids inside, around it, flowing by.. etc. -but also the body feels movement, and reacts to that (just like standing- spine, and hip/pelvis aligned with leg… you can feel shifts, “adjustments”/pops and where body seems to just lean and re-balance.. as it feels how-to integrate: this can be noticed, and yet you can also notice the body (and mind) in other places freeze-holdeither way- as this occurs- sung (not “push down” but feel your soles/feet ~souls?
and notice where your mind&/or body is “forcing” -smooth and even.. connected –
I find way too much people will jump to “too much chi accum in head” when most cases they are referring to fluid build-up (as all fluids are moving, unless severely cutoff from circ.. so it is a matter of “net” less out and goes in, uneven-ness that holds it at this new-pooling..
-if it continued more in than out, it would continually be inflating, like a balloon !.. but just same in as flows out- but with a “delta” .. that, in head, or anywhere in body, can bloat/pressurize.. I had that..)and as “Chi moves that Fluids.” but to feel the chi movement itself is a bit more than i this is usually implied (I only mention as your post you mention that, and I only comment on this in regards to others oft jumping to that.. not that your question isn’t valid).
==
So a bit tricky to integrate different ChiGung systems (as not just the “practices” but the underlying assumptions/guideline-principles differ).. I’m not sure if you have read Opening the Egates (author Bruce Frantzis, via this site).. and/or if you’ve watched the videos on Youtube.com/user/energyartsvideos/videos might help- as some context there which might bump up against your approach?
if you have the above already, I only mention it, as fdbk upon your practice could be quickly given live.. but otherwise so easy to be off-base with relevance. -good luck, any above resonate (or even better, any help your sit?) -
