There is an saying: “We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are.” This adage expresses one of the difficulties with trying to piece the BMP material together – we are limited by our preconceived ideas and they shape as well as limit our view of the world. That may be why it is so extraordinary when someone breaks out of the status quo and sees the world through a new paradigm. 6 years ago I couldn’t even imagine how I’d perceive the art of Bagua today. I was and probably still am constrained by my own biases. That’s why it is so important to continue to train what you do know and allow the new to spontaneously arise.
