Just something that I’ve been working on a while, and thought I’d toss-it-out-there (curious if, and if so how, it is useful for others reading this.. and any angles I might read from such)… and as relates to the movement of the spine (which has come-up recently, in some comments on forum- and specifically in the TrainingCircle for those here on that).
by which i submit “puffing up the chest” (as a contrast) can be done in two ways, either:

big inhale which expands ribs, and thus spine- as well as the centerline of torso (actual midline through crown to perin) stays mostly the same… largely an expansion from inflating.
    or
a back-bend arch (even if a smaller motion, can just sort of lean a bit, although easier to see and to conceive if think of the wrestler’s/gymanast’s move where they reach over backward and place palms on ground behind feet (reaching over-behind head-shoulders- touch wall behind.. etc.) [Hopefully that made sense] -the issue being, in this second example, the spine, and the centerline axis, is arcing, vs in the first example they are not..

Thus as comparision (to breathing, bend-the-bow, monkey&bear spine, QiAdheres to the back, etc.) consider the above two categories. the usual is oft the above-second. bend-the-bow seen as a fwd leaning-tipping, such that the centerline axis is not straight, and the front of body also ‘folds’

-consider (as contrast, and as a possibility- although in terms of developmental procedure and implementing how it is used depends).. but consider doing a Bend-the-Bow (and breathing, etc..) as the front of body, and the centerline axis, staying straight (but not tense, released) and then the area ‘behind/between the centerline axis and the spine’ expands and that is what causes the spine to move

(in the same way that the first of this “puffing up/out the chest” all that movement is in the front of the centerline..) the issue being, that folding helps isolate and activate/feeling.. but can be done with little “expansion” (and related shrinking -deflation, or – “Soak-fill and Wring-out” – …)

thus if try and breathe in there, or get the soft-tissue to release and move, how feel and how move without ‘tensing”? but if do so, a floating feeling (and tidal-waves are felt, along with an airy-slightly electrified sensation outwardly behind. one…
