Hi Paul,
The adjustments we make to our basic alignments for the breathing exercises. (Drawing the spine back, spreading the shoulder blades). Do we keep these adjustments for standing and sinking qi practise , or do we go back to our basic alignments?
Thanks,
Adam
Yes, if you can maintain them without strain.
I wouldn’t go so far as to say every teachnique but most techniques, when introduced, are carried forward into all more advanced practices. This is because nei gong utilises a build process. That is you develop something, you develeop another thing and then you bring them together. They then form a foundation that is then built upon as you advance. So you don’t throw away foundational or basic techniques when you go into a more advance practice. In this case, you do your best to maintain all of your alignments and–if you can–your breathing while you sink qi.
